When life presented Rakhi with a daunting diagnosis and career setbacks, she refused to let her circumstances define her. Diagnosed with breast cancer during the pandemic, Rakhi's life was turned upside down as she navigated the challenges of treatment and recovery.
“They helped me condense what I had already there to make it suitable for 2023 and onwards,” she says.
Rakhi is thriving in her new job as a registered nurse. Her responsibilities include performing health assessments, vaccinations, and various nursing duties.
“Getting the new job was a significant accomplishment for me,” she says proudly. “Someone actually wanted me.”
CIM Employment by Altius continued to support Rakhi even after securing her position, checking in regularly to ensure she is satisfied in her role and adjusting well to the workplace environment.
“Having regular catch-ups is essential,” she notes. “It’s comforting to know they’re there for me.”
Rakhi’s experience has deeply shaped her perspective on workforce inclusion, whether it involves disability, illness, or injury.
“More people with disabilities should give it a go,” she encourages. “You never know; you can be happier in whatever path you choose. CIM Employment helped me, and they can help so many other people.”
To those facing similar challenges, Rakhi offers heartfelt advice:
“Just keep on striving. Don’t give up.”
Her journey from diagnosis to employment success serves as an empowering reminder that with the right support and determination, obstacles can be overcome.
