Throughout 2023, Tim has made a profound difference in the lives of many participants. One standout success story involved a participant who had previously been denied Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) housing funding after being assessed by another occupational therapist. Thanks to Tim's thorough assessment in December 2023 and his detailed reporting on the participant’s needs, the funding decision was overturned, allowing the participant to access SDA housing. This success showcases Tim's perseverance and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for his clients.
Tim looks at his clients with a holistic approach to ensure they have access to multidisciplinary services to address their unique needs. He collaborates with colleagues to provide tailored solutions that could help clients achieve their goals quickly.
Tim’s contributions extend beyond individual client work—he is an invaluable team player. He has worked closely with Exercise Physiologists in both the Central Coast and Newcastle areas, strengthening relationships with support coordinators and facilitating introductions to EPs across the Tuggerah and Newcastle offices. His collaborative efforts have helped create a supportive and productive environment for the entire National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) team. Additionally, Tim has taken on a mentorship role, guiding three Therapy Assistants as they develop their skills and enhance their ability to deliver effective therapy to participants.
Since relocating to the Central Coast in May 2023 and initiating NDIS services at the Tuggerah office, he has been a sought-after Occupational Therapist and well recognised as a NDIS consultant in the community. His ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders has been instrumental in making services accessible to NDIS participants and improving client outcomes.
