Vegan Plumcott Cobbler by Messy Veggies

Recipe by Simon Hall, a passionate vegan and co-founder of This vegan Plumcot Cobbler was something he whipped up in Mildura. For those who don't know a plumcot, it's a mix between a plum and an apricot. An amazing and delicious little fruit. p.s. You can use plums, nectarines, peaches or apricots if you can't find plumcots!


  • 6 Plumcots
  • 1 Cup Plain flour
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar + extra to sprinkle on top
  • 3/4 Cup Almond Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 3/4 Cup Vegan Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves




  • Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees C.
  • Start by melting the vegan butter until you get some bubbles in the liquid.
  • Pour into a shallow pie dish.
  • Mix all your dry ingredients together and then add the almond milk.
  • Mix together until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the pie dish and let the butter naturally run over the batter, don't mix together.
  • Slice up your plumcots into eights and place on the top of your dish.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar over the top.
  • Place in the oven and cook for 45 mins.
  • Take out and party, maybe wait a bit to cool, but then party.
