Laura is a Clinical Psychologist and an Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) qualified supervisor with special qualifications in the treatment of trauma. Her primary therapeutic approaches include Schema Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.
Laura has worked with individuals involved in the child protection service, emergency responders and families experiencing trauma, throughout much of regional Australia and across four states.
Guided by the latin proverb ‘ubi dubium ibi livertas’, which translates to ‘where there is doubt there is freedom’, Laura says “Rigid thinking and expectations is often what leads us into difficulty. The unexpected could be fabulous, so we need to be flexible with ourselves and share this with our clients to be able to deal with adversity and a future that may look a little different than expected”.
For her own mental wellbeing Laura practises yoga and she enjoys lifting weights, music, travel, and enjoys challenging herself in her professional and personal life.
