Place of work (city & state): Newcastle, NSW

What positions have you held at Altius: Employment Consultant, Vocational Consultant and now Principal Consultant

Why did you choose Altius: I was referred by a friend, in the early stages of my Grad Dip. Once I had decided on Vocational Rehabilitation, she told me how great Rehabilitation Services were and encouraged me to give it a try. I was not disappointed.

How is Altius supporting you in your career development: I have been rewarded internally with career progression and endless opportunities to engage in internal training with my amazing peers. I have also had many opportunities to engage in external training with some very inspiring leaders, which has widened my scope of knowledge and expertise. I have been supported through any challenges, and my key strengths and values have been met by my awesome manager to ensure I am happy and appropriately challenged in my roles.

Why do you think Altius is a great place to work: In the Altius Group, we are surrounded by many skilled and experienced peers across a range of disciplines. We stand out from the rest of Vocational Rehabilitation given our drive for quality and consistently high standards of customer service. We value internal development above outsourcing for experience and have the opportunity to direct our skill development and progression within the organisation in line with our strengths. Our leaders are readily available and approachable for anything big or small. And most importantly, we all love what we do and are passionate about Occupational Rehabilitation. This means we have fun in the workplace simultaneously to working hard and driving outcomes.

Educational Background: Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy)
Started at Altius: October 2012

Place of work (city & state): Campbelltown, NSW

What positions have you held at Altius: Rehabilitation Consultant, Principal Consultant, Regional Principal Consultant, Regional Manager

Why did you choose Altius: My personal values are aligned with the company’s values. There was a clear development path and thorough induction which allowed me, as a new graduate, to feel supported within a new role and industry.

How is Altius supporting you in your career development: I have been able to identify personal strengths which aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation. I was offered the opportunity and support to try new roles and explore career development. I feel like I have grown as a person. Over the 5 years, I have helped establish growth and development within the Wollongong region. The management team also identified an opportunity for personal growth, where I established a new office in Campbelltown which has grown to a team of 15 consultants.

Why do you think Altius is a great place to work: The support and personal growth they offer is second to none, accompanied by a great social culture and the amazing work-life balance they promote. It also challenges me to identify areas of development. There is a real focus on providing internal and external training opportunities. Within this industry, Rehabilitation Services has a focus on holistic work through a biopsychosocial approach, ensuring we continue to utilise our clinical skills as allied health practitioners.
